That's top spot sealed for Chelsea after they ground out a professional performance. Thank you for all your comments.

Full-time. Porto 0 Chelsea 1.

90 Three minutes of added time will be played.

87 Porto have many men forward but Chelsea look very solid. Their defending has again been sound this evening.

84 Claims for handball as a vicious strike hits Terry. But the ball appeared to hit the Chelsea skipper in the chest.

82 Hulk bursts in from the right and pulls the trigger. But his effort is a little central and Cech claims with ease.

79 Guarin sees a dangerous looking header drop just over the bar. Meanwhile, Raul Meireles has gone into the book and Farias is on for Sapunaru.

76 Deco is applauded by the home fans as he is replaced by Joe Cole.

74 Porto cry for a penalty as Hulk struggles to make proper contact with a cross under pressure from Zhirkov. The ref waves away the appeals.

71 Belluschi is replaced by Guarin.

A fine goal. Essien holds up play and then releases Zhirkov, who passes to Malouda down the left channel. The Frenchman puts in an inviting cross and Anelka is there to head home from close range. This is the sign of a great team.

69 GOAL - Anelka scores for Chelsea!!!

68 Ballack is off for Essien. Meanwhile, Zhirkov sees a shout for a penalty turned down. He appeared to be blocked off in the area. Nothing doing from the ref though.

65 A tidy move from Porto sees a ball pulled back to the edge of the area. But the chance is difficult for Hulk, who sees his shot zoom over.

62 Zhirkov threads Malouda down the line and the Frenchman shows great skill to lift the ball over his sliding marker. But he cannot quite reach the ball at the second attempt as a defenders comes over to cover.

60 Striker Hulk is on, replacing Varela.

59 Ballack goes into the book after his mis-control forces him to bring down Rodriguez.

56 Almost a bizarre goal there. Deco slices his free-kick and the ball cannons off the ref. Porto take charge of possession and lead a counter, but the cross from the left is gathered by Cech.

54 Deco flashes just wide. Anelka comes in from the left and his cross is only half-cleared. The ball drops to Deco, who shoots on the volley. But his strike zips off target.

52 Fernando goes into the book for a challenge on Drogba. Poor tackle, really.

50 Malouda receives treatment after picking up a knock, but is now back on the field. He looks fine.

48 Plenty of touches on the ball for Chelsea during the early stages of the second half, but it is all in front of Porto.

46 Porto, who are wearing orange, get the game back under way.

19.42 Peter has lambasted Chelsea's lacklustre first-half showing, he demands better! But Daniel is not too fussed. He just cannot wait until Sunday!

Half-time. Porto 0 Chelsea 0. Thoughts to jamesdall@hotmail.co.uk.

45 One minute of added time will be played.

44 Sapunaru has a shot from a long way out and the strike zooms wide. For all their good work over the past 20 minutes or so, Porto have struggled to get in behind Chelsea.

41 Chelsea are without momentum when in possession. They are quite happy to meander forward when they pick up the ball. Where's the impetus?

38 Porto are certainly on top now. They are pressing well and moving the ball forward whenever possible.

36 Deco has a pop first-time but his right-footed strike flashes wide of the goal. Chelsea are not playing particularly well, if truth be told.

33 Porto are growing in confidence and seem willing to try their luck from range. That Belluschi certainly has a shot on him.

30 Woodwork! What a hit from Belluschi. The Porto attacker cuts in from the left and thunders a right-footed effort at goal. It has Cech beaten but cannons off the top of the bar.

27 There's almost a clash between Malouda and Fernando, after the latter was not happy with a challenge by the former. But the players soon nip any potential fisty-cuffs in the bud.

24 Zhirkov makes a surging run from deep and looks to latch onto a deep ball from Anelka, but the Russian cannot quite get it under control.

22 Porto come close! Belluschi has a pop from distance and Cech can only parry. Falcao looks to tap home the rebound but the Chelsea keeper is there to save from close range. A wake-up call for the Blues, perhaps.

20 Ballack finds space on the left side of the area and wriggles an opening onto his left foot. He attempts a curler but the ball is deflected wide.

18 Hmmm, Chelsea are well in control defensively, but seem in no rush to push for an opener. The game is a little flat. The lack of tempo will probably suit Ancelotti, what with Sunday in mind.

15 Anelka forces the first real save of the match. The Frenchman hammers a strike at goal and Beto is forced to parry away, as the ball risked swerving home.

14 The home fans are feeling a little aggrieved after witnessing a number of decisions go in Chelsea's favour.

11 The clash is perhaps lacking the required edge to make it a feisty encounter, what with qualification already in the bag for both sides. Have to say that Chelsea look the stronger physically and are winning many of the 50-50s.

9 The tempo of the encounter is getting faster, which makes it a better match on the eye. A Porto surge almost results to something, but Mikel is there to use his strength and edge the ball away.

7 Porto appear to be gradually finding their stride, but their final ball is lacking. As I type, Chelsea attack and a one-two between Drogba and Anelka almost results in a goal for the Frenchman, only for the flag to go up - perhaps wrongly.

4 Chelsea are enjoying the majority of the early possession as they look to probe for an opening. Anelka has a pop from range, but it is ambitious and he scuffs his effort well wide.

2 Raul Meireles makes an early burst from deep and looks to be through, but the flag is up for offside. A tight call, that one.

1 Kick-off: Chelsea, wearing all white, get the game started, kicking from left to right as I see it.

19.43 The two teams are out on the field, greeted by a rapturous applause from the fans inside the stadium. Here we go, people...

19.40 Larry Ridges has made an interesting point about Chelsea's diamond, with Deco likely to start this evening ahead of Joe Cole. Could it be that Cole may resume that position for Sunday and Ancelotti is merely saving his legs? Personally, I would pick Cole over Deco every time. The lad's a genius on the ball and should definitely be going to the World Cup for England.

19.36 I don't know about you, but I am interested to see how summer signing Zhirkov gets on. The Russian has struggled with injuries this season and will doubtless be eager to now push for a role in Ancelotti's side.

19.32 Lewis is predicting a 2-0 win for Chelsea, with Drogba bagging the first goal. There is also quite a few disappointed emails regarding Gael Kakuta's lack of involvement. What say you, chaps? Any further words of wisdom on the encounter?

19.24 Those are the teams, so let me hear your thoughts. Will both sides be sufficiently motivated for the game, considering their qualification is already assured? Is Carlo Ancelotti taking a risk by playing Drogba ahead of Sunday's clash with Arsenal? Fire emails my way via jamesdall@hotmail.co.uk.

19.22 Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Zhirkov, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Deco, Anelka, Drogba. Subs: Turnbull, Ashley Cole, Essien, Joe Cole, Kalou, Alex, Belletti.

19.19 FC Porto: Beto, Sapunaru, Rolando, Bruno Alves, Pereira,Belluschi, Fernando, Raul Meireles, Varela, Falcao, Rodriguez. Subs: Nuno, Guarin, Valeri, Hulk, Maicon, Farias, Costa.

19.16 Welcome to our live commentary of Porto's UEFA Champions League clash with Chelsea. Team news to follow...
