50 Anelka's first shot from 25 yards out is blocked before he forces Asenjo into a good stop with a powerful drive. He has probably been Chelsea's best player tonight.

49 Essien goes in over the top on Paulo Assuncao and stands on the midfielder's ankle. Really poor challenge by Essien - had the referee spotted it he would have been in big trouble.

47 No changes in personnel by either side and looks like no change in formation either. Will be interesting to see how long Atletico go before opening up.

A Chelsea win is now 1/8, Atletico 22/1 and the draw 6s. Chelsea's last two group games have finished 14/5, it's 14/5 on that happening again. Lampard is on a bit of a goal drought at the moment and is 13/2 to net the next goal.

Chelsea have been the better side overall and just about deserve their lead. Atletico started brightly but faded as an attacking force as the game went on and the Blues could have scored more. The visitors are dangerous though with Forlan looking a real threat tonight.

40 GOAL - KALOU. The striker finally manages to put the ball in the back of the net. Good play by Ashley Cole who delivers a low ball across goal and Kalou only has to tap into the net from five yards out.

38 Another great chance for Chelsea and Kalou. Terry gets on the end of the corner into the box and directs his header towards Kalou who misses his kick just two yards out. Another poor miss - he was in an offside position but the flag did not go up.

36 Kalou's deflected cross is excellently turned round the post by Asenjo. Good reactions.

35 Aguero is caught by Ivanovic's arm and play is halted for a few moments. No malice whatsoever by the Chelsea defender.

32 Cleber Santana shows good skill to get past Ashley Cole but his low cross is held by Cech.

30 Good touch by Belletti but his early cross is deflected and gathered by Asenjo. The right-back has been excellent tonight so far.

29 Ashley Cole just can't get his foot to a diagonal ball. Chelsea are a bit disjointed at the moment.

26 Deco catches Cleber Santana and the Chelsea man is fortunate not to be booked.

25 Anelka's early cross is just too long for Kalou. Decent move by Chelsea and good play by both Belletti and Anelka.

23 A pretty even game so far. Both sides have had chances - the best falling to Kalou for Chelsea. Atletico do look shaky at the back though and you get the feeling if Chelsea up the tempo they can win this game.

21 Kalou challenges for Anelka's cross but commits a foul in the process.

20 Lampard's through ball is a poor one and floats into the arms of Asenjo.

18 Another chance for Forlan. John Terry gives possession away, not for the first time, and Forlan takes advantage but Cech is equal to his drive from a tight angle and punches the ball clear.

16 Kalou misses a complete sitter from just 12 yards out. The striker is completely unmarked with Asenjo out of position but he somehow sends the ball wide of the post. Terrible, terrible miss.

16 Ashley Cole is back on his feet and play restarts. Will be worth keeping an eye on him.

12 Chelsea think they are in front but the flag is up for offside. Kalou was in an offside position but Frank Lampard's free-kick from 35 yards out floats over the head of Asenjo without a touch from a Chelsea player. A controversial decision.

11 Nicolas Anelka is being jeered every time he touches the ball by the visiting fans for his Real Madrid connection. He then concedes a foul much to their delight.

9 Should be 1-0 to Atletico. Aguero brushes Branislav Ivanovic aside but lashes the ball into the side netting when through on goal. Chelsea are struggling here.

8 First clear-cut chance of the game as Simao easily beats Michael Essien. Cech is then forced into a smart save down low as Forlan gets his head to the cross. Atletico are the better side here.

7 Forlan is caught offside. The Atletico fans are making all the noise here, it's been a really quiet Stamford Bridge since kick-off.

6 Good break by Atletico but a rare sight as Sergio Aguero's control lets him down inside the box and a chance is wasted.

5 Frank Lampard finds Deco on the left but the flag is up for offside.

4 Forlan goes for goal again from distance, this time forcing Petr Cech into a comfortable save.

3 Salomon Kalou does well to get on the end of Belletti's cross but directs his header wide of goal under pressure. Belletti has started the game as a right winger.

1 Good chance for Chelsea already as Juliano Belletti gets in behind the visiting defence but his driven cross is straight into the arms of Sergio Asenjo.
